Lebanon is a beautiful country, located at the crossroads of the Mediterranean Basin and the Arabian hinterland. Air Quality information is available publically and freely, once a day from the from erml.moe.gov.lb website.

Unfortunately, there are two problems which prevents us from displaying it on the map like other countries:
  • Data is provided only once a day, while it is available for every hour for other countries.
  • Detailled readings, for each pollutants and expressed in mg/m3 is not available. Instead, only the composite AQI, without much information about the individual pollutant data or the AQI scales is use.
So, for now, the last Air Quality readings in Lebanon are:

Beirut

Zahle

Sidon

Monitoring the Air Quality

Air Quality Forecast

We are now investigating with several institutions the possibility to setup an Air Quality monitoring network, which would allow to broadcast free hourly Air Quality information for several sites in Alger, and later in other Algerian cities.

The monitoring stations used for this network are the semi-professional GAIA A12 Air Quality monitoring stations. The Gaia A12 are much more affordable than the traditional stations, but with a data quality as good and reliable as traditional stations.

If you are interested in knowing more about the project, about helping to host a station, or just about getting and rebroadcasting the real-time Air quality data, then please contact us with the form at the bottom of this page.
