Forecast Analysis

How accurate are the forecasts? Check the correlation graphs below for PM2.5, PM10 and Ozone for the past 30 days. (Note that all values are based on the AQI, and that a maximum threshold of 300 is used).

Please note that all above analysis are done on the World Air Quality Index (WAQI) project own budget.
We did not receive any subsidies from any of the intuitions publishing Air Quality forecast models.


Future Improvements

Do you like our forecast model analysis tool called GOA?

Our objective is to create the best world air quality ensemble forecast - which can maximize the forecast accuracy and efficiency for any place on earth (and especially for the 600+ cities covered on the aqicn.org).

We are now looking at extending this GOA tool with many more models and features such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) based model correction, real-time deterministic statistic analysis, or automatic emission correction.

We are not in favor of replacing deterministic models with AI models, but rather to use the AI to complement the models and create the best ensemble model using deep learning solutions.

0 - 50 Gut Die Qualität der Luft gilt als zufriedenstellend und die Luftverschmutzung stellt ein geringes oder kein Risiko dar
51 -100 Moderat Die Luftqualität ist insgesamt akzeptabel. Bei manchen Schadstoffe besteht jedoch eventuell eine geringe Gesundheitsgefahr für einen sehr kleinen Personenkreis, der sehr empfindlich auf Luftverschmutzung ist.
101-150 Ungesund für empfindliche Personengruppen Bei Mitgliedern von empfindlichen Personengruppen können gesundheitliche Auswirkungen auftreten. Die allgemeine Öffentlichkeit ist wahrscheinlich nicht betroffen.
151-200 Ungesund Erste gesundheitliche Auswirkungen können sich bei allen Personen einstellen. Bei empfindlichen Personengruppen können ernstere gesundheitliche Auswirkungen auftreten.
201-300 Sehr ungesund Gesundheitswarnung aufgrund einer Notfallsituation. Die gesamte Bevölkerung ist voraussichtlich betroffen.
