Please note that the calculation of Air Pollutant Index (API) is now using PM2.5. The improvement has been done by the Deparment of Environment (DoE) starting from August 2018. (read more here and here).

The calculation is based on the Air Pollutant Index 2018 standard. If using the 2020 DoE standard (which is the same standard used for allmost all countries on aqicn.org), the current AQI would be
36
.

Please note that the Air Pollutant Index reported by the DoE is based on 24 hours PM2.5 and PM10 averages. This means that during the period of Haze, where the Air Quality Index can deteriorate significantly and fast, the published Air Pollution index is most likely lower than the actual pollution. Want your own air quality monitoring station?

The GAIA air quality monitoring stations are using high-tech laser particle sensors to measure in real-time PM2.5 pollution, which is one of the most harmful air pollutants.

Very easy to set up, they only require a WIFI access point and a USB power supply. Once connected, air pollution levels are reported instantaneously and in real-time on our maps
